SUMMARY:12th International Workshop on Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia
DESCRIPTION:The 12th International Workshop on Waldenstrom’s Macroglobuli
 nemia (IWWM-12) is scheduled to take place from October 17th to October 20
 th\, 2024\, in Prague\, Czech Republic. The conference will be held at the
  Prague Marriott Hotel\, one of Prague’s premier hotels located in the o
 ld city of Prague. The hotel is situated in one of the city’s most histo
 ric areas\, surrounded by enriching museums\, vibrant parks and gardens\, 
 and epicurean eateries.
 The welcome reception will be held on Wednesday\
 , October 16th\, 2024\, at the Prague Marriott Hotel. The Opening Ceremoni
 es will take place on Thursday\, October 17th\, 2024\, at the inspiring Na
 tional Gallery of Prague\, and the Closing Ceremonies will be held on Satu
 rday\, October 20th\, 2024\, on board the Grand Bohemia-Prague Boats.
 Th
 ese venues promise to provide an in-depth appreciation of Czech history\, 
 architecture\, food\, and culture\, and provide an exciting backdrop for t
 he Jan Gosta Waldenstrom\, Robert A. Kyle\, and the Peter S. Bing Humanita
 rian Awards. Drs. Christian Buske (University of Ulm\, Germany) and Jeffre
 y Matous (Colorado Blood Institute\, USA) will be serving as Co-Chairs for
  this workshop.
 On Friday\, October 18th\, 2024\, the IWWM-12 will conti
 nue to support future WM research by sponsoring the Junior Investigator Po
 ster presentation event along with the Young Investigator Awards. The top 
 eight abstracts highly scored will have a separate plenary session in the 
 program. With appreciation from the IWWM\, the International Waldenstrom
 ’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF) has generously gifted the top 20 
 Young Investigator Awards (YIAs) payment for registration fees\, travel\, 
 and lodging. Abstract submissions for poster presentations will open on Ma
 rch 1st\, 2024\, and close on June 12th\, 2024.
 The 12th International W
 orkshop on Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia (IWWM-12) is expected to be a
 s comprehensive as IWWM-11\, which included twenty sessions with over nine
 ty technical presentations. Since the IWWM began in 2000\, the number of p
 articipating international investigators has steadily grown to over thirty
  countries\, and over 8\,700 publications including those created and deve
 loped from the IWWM Workshops. These publications have been published in t
 op publications such as the New England Journal of Medicine\, Blood\, Clin
 ical Lymphoma Myeloma\, Haematologica\, Journal of Clinical Oncology\, Leu
 kemia\, Nature\, Lancet\, and Seminars of Hematology 1.
 The Workshop’s
  mission is to further the understanding\, diagnosis\, treatment\, and pre
 vention of disorders affecting the blood\, bone marrow\, and the immunolog
 ic system by promoting targeted research\, clinical care methods\, educati
 on\, training\, and advocacy for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. The go
 al is to enrich each attendee’s understanding and help foster research d
 iscoveries and lifetime collaborations leading to more effective treatment
 s and ultimately find a cure for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
